The brief: to create a social media campaign allowing people around the world to be part of the Calgary Stampede’s centennial celebration.” The 100 Hats project began with the purchase of 100 white, locally made Smithbuilt Hats. Our goal was simple: have people around the world wear one of the 100 Hats and share their photos on Facebook. Each hat was adorned with an individual number and a label explaining how the project works:
1. Take a picture with the hat.
2. Post your picture at facebook.com/100hats. Tag yourself, add your location and enter your hat # in the comments section.
3. Pass the hat along to someone else.
Some of the Hats were given to people travelling and the rest of them began their journey in Calgary. Then we sat back and followed the journey of the 100 Hats.
